Dunky – race brief
What
The Dunky, 7.5km of trails. (2x 3.75km ish)

Race start 9.30am Sunday 24th October 2021

Mugdock Country Park Visitor Centre, G62 8EL
When travelling please bear in mind the disruption caused by COP26. Some roads in Glasgow are closed – particularly worth a mention is the Clyde Expressway closure. Allow yourself time if this affects your journey.
Car parking
We have our own exclusive car park especially for you guys. Please do not park in the main car park at the visitor centre, drive through it and follow the signage and hi viz hero instructions.
Toilets
We also have our own toilets! These are situated within our car park.
Registration
Open from 8.30am and closes at 9.20am. As an eco- friendly company we encourage reuse – kudos to those who bring their own safety pins! Race numbers will be allocated at registration – these will not correlate to anything issued on signup by EntryCentral.
Race Brief
A brief brief will take place at 9.25am
Route

The route will be marked and marshalled.
It is two laps. It’s the flattest and least muddy Acorn Trails event so far!
No dogs, buggies or children. This event is run under a Scottish Athletics license. And definitely no littering!
Shoes
Whilst the route is suitable for road shoes, there will most likely be some standing water and some mud (Don’t panic Mikey!) RD will be pottering about in trail shoes. You choose..
Refreshments
Water will be available at the finish line. There is no water station on the route. The finish will also have bananas supplied by Tesco, Milngavie, and Tunnock’s Caramel Wafers. Cafes within the visitor centre will be open from 10am
Merch
Medals ordered at signup will be issued at the finish.
Any apparel ordered will be mailed directly to your address – reduces multi-handling which is great in the current covid world.
Results
Manually timed, results will be posted to the website in due course. First person to ask gets a time penalty! 🤣
