Virtual Migo Mile for January

Virtual Migo Mile for January

January’s Migo Mile was once again a virtual event.

The first time the Mile has been held under the Acorn Trails brand since the switch on 1st January from TRB.

Trialling a new entry and results system we teamed up with MilesAway to take the details for your free entry. We would love to know what you thought?

It was a virtual race under tricky conditions – patchy ice across parts of the route meant it was a bit like Bambi on Ice in parts. Although John Gordon managed to keep his feet this time round, having had a close look at the ice on two occasions in December! For those racking up to the course early in the morning, the ice would prove too much of a deterrent to putting in a fully paced effort. Deterred but no out, Alison Lessells still tip-toed her way around the rink and managed to set a time. Setting a slow target for next time to beat?

Speaking of MilesAway. Inspired by being the entry provider, MilesAway’s Jonathan Roebuck traversed the city from the West End to set a blistering 5.02! Running pal Sean Reid chased him but to no avail coming in second on the results table in a shoddy 5.32!! We are of course joking, but I am sure there was some friendly jibes on their 11 mile circuitous run home!

Jenny Brown once again topped the list for the ladies in a slippery and quick 6.32. We really are looking forward to the ladies podium battle once we can get a “real” event back on.
