Migo Mile For March
March motored by! The Clyde Stride Ultra Marathon ballot took place and with the virtual South By Five in full swing, the Migo Mile for March was soon upon us.
With glimmers of light appearing at the end of the tunnel, we hope this will have been the penultimate virtual version. All being well, in contrast to May 2020 being our first virtual, hopefully May 21, will see us host the first physical running of the Acorn Trails Migo Mile.
Marching On
Migo Mile regulars took to the course in March, and took some advantage of the good conditions to set some great times.
Strava “Local Legend” John Gordon (GSRR) set a new course PB, although was still disappointed to remain in the 7 minute bracket.
The ladies topped the leader board. Jenny Brown was happy to be back under the 6 minute mark for the third time. Kristina Grieg returned to the Mile, setting the second fastest time of the month, but actually her slowest of three events. Sheila Murray finishing in third with her second fastest segment time.
The quality of the female past and current participants lends itself to a fantastic race should they all go head to head in May! We hope so!
Despite the better weather and underfoot conditions, it wasn’t PBs all round. The improved conditions leads to more “muggles”, and the hazards of dodging dog walkers, cyclists and other park users becomes real.
Results
We’ll be adding a link soon to the all time results of the Migo Mile. This will include all TRB hosted events, and virtual events.
Each of our Migo Mile events has one lucky winner chosen at random from all finishers. The prize is a free entry to an Acorn Trails event. Maybe not the best idea to pick next moth’s Migo Mile though!
March’s winner is Deidre Hoyle. Congratulations
