Pollok Park Trail Race event report

Pollok Park Trail Race event report

Pollok Park Trail Races What a great finish line. Tree lined, daffodil strewn, and downhill toward the gates and splendour of grade ‘A’ listed, Pollok House. All the runners at the Pollok Park Trail Races particularly enjoyed this bit! The preceding bit generated mixed feelings! Our hi-viz hero, Ann-Marie recorded several F-words and a couple of C-bombs, as she gleefully (by her own admission maybe a bit over exuberantly!) directed already weary legs up the […]

Woof woof woof woof awooo!

Woof woof woof woof awooo!

A race brief by Jim the Dog Ok so dad’s left me here to oversee operations while he sets up (and comes up with) another course. First of all, thanks for all the pats at registration. Although I do have an important job to do here, I still can’t help but feel abandoned when I’m not with my main man so I appreciate those who took the time to look at my sad wee face […]

Qx5 report

It’s over. Wait what? How did that happen. Another South By Five come and gone. Absolutely flown by! And already looking forward to the next one! The Finale The last race saw us head to Queens Park. The start and finish of the inspiration South Side Six race. True to heritage Qx5 keeps to that start and finish….so don’t blame me for those steps and that hill finish. Blame South Side Six! What you can […]

Linn Park Centenary Trail Race report and results

Linn Park Centenary Trail Race report and results

It is a great feeling hosting a race for the second time. Linn Park Centenary Trail Race was our first real life race (i.e. non virtual event). For that reason alone it’s always going to be an important one for us. Of course the fantastic route, the hills and the mud also mean its always going to be a feature of our calendar. The feedback we had from 2021 meant we could not leave this […]

Jim’s 2020 vision

Jim’s 2020 vision

Woof, it’s been a while!! A new year is a great opportunity to reflect though and I love a chance to reminisce on the good times. That one was a year like no other, the year the family decided to stay home and hang out with me and Cleody. 2020 Bliss! My running year started well. Last year I was bounding around the Bishops Glen in Dunoon with the family. January continued in a similar […]

Lancashire In A Day

Lancashire In A Day

Pendle Way In A Day I woke up at Dan’s crib this morning, having had a wee bunk down in Black Betty’s bed. A very comfortable slumber was had. Hope Betty doesn’t mind me stinking it out and leaving half my coat behind in it! Road trip time for some more Lancashire…Whatever the heck that is! So everyone is scrambling around, looking for running gear.. Woohoo!! We hot paw it to the Bash mobile (likely […]

Epic Arran

Epic Arran

An Epic Sleep After an epic sleep, the Saturday morning alarms went off. I had a good old stretch, yawned like a howlin wolf and got into position outside the bedroom door. Ready to pounce and jump about like an eejit as soon as someone appeared. Felt like I hadn’t seen them in forever. When was the last time someone scratched behind my ears? Hours? Days? Weeks?.. By heck I miss them. I gave the […]

Tollcross parkrun debut

Tollcross parkrun debut

The day I made my debut appearance at Tollcross parkrun… A few of our GSRR pals had decided to do a bit of parkrun tourism and me and mum thought we’d jump on the bandwagon. Tollcross turned out to be a very wise decision. Most other Glasgow parkruns were off due to very slippy conditions underpaw. Crazy miles On a crazy quest for miles, dad ran to Drumchapel parkrun to meet uncle Robert (also looking […]

Barking back to 2019 – a look back at a year

Barking back to 2019 2019..Where to start?! The year that my life turned around and upside down. It has been epic on so many levels. Goodness knows what I was up to this time last year. Probably pottering about on the farm, chatting to the horses and avoiding the pesky cat gang (and stealing their food!) Life was ok, but it was nothing compared to the exciting adventure that it has since become! Top highlight […]

Jim, King of the Park

Jim, King of the Park

So i’ve finally got to the bottom of this running around in dark in Kings Park malarkey! It all became clear one morning, I’d barely finished my full body stretch-shake my flappy ears routine, when we were off; pitch black, half asleep in the Bash mobile. I’ll just finish off that sleep thinks I.. Oh no, we were stopped and parked up again in minutes! Just what was going on here? Mum and dad start […]
