Rx5 report and results
Rouken Glen – Rx5 event report A cold and frosty morning greeted runners to Rouken Glen for event three in the South By Five series. The route at Rx5 is the most varied of the six routes the series offers. It encompasses a nice hill – both up and down – as well as grass, mud, steps, waterfalls and an over-reaching tarmac stretch which is gradually uphill! The temperature was embraced by participants, mostly, possible […]
Sx5 Linn Park race report and results
Lx5 Seventy-seven of you returned to charge down the starting hill in Linn Park. Joined by another thirty four in their first series event of 2022, leaving this year’s South By Five the most popular yet. A brief shower as the marshals were deployed was the last of the rain, which had poured in the wee hours. This shower had registered runners huddling under the trees, eagerly awaiting the starting hooter. Mud and puddles were […]
Sx5 Kings Park race report and results
South By Five Running is often billed as a free sport. Ask runners, and they’ll tell you the cost of trainers, tshirts, jackets, belts, gloves, waterproofs, races soon add up! South By Five this year was aimed to help with the rising costs. And we visited Kings Park for the first event. Entrants were asked to give only what they could afford to a variety of, let’s call them ‘ethical’ options. Tree planting in a […]
Dunky 22 race report and results
The Show Must Go On That the Dunky would go ahead wasn’t in question (unlike some events in a different council area!). What state we would be in on the day of the race was dubious. With the Dunky falling on the last day of the school holiday, it was always going to be tough to squeeze in a family holiday, and the race in the same week. We got home at 3am, and registration […]
Linn Park Centenary Trail Race report and results
It is a great feeling hosting a race for the second time. Linn Park Centenary Trail Race was our first real life race (i.e. non virtual event). For that reason alone it’s always going to be an important one for us. Of course the fantastic route, the hills and the mud also mean its always going to be a feature of our calendar. The feedback we had from 2021 meant we could not leave this […]
Magnificent 7
Migo Mile for August It was a small turn out for the August Migo Mile. A consequence of a busy few days of racing in the local area: Canal Canter from Springburn Harriers on Thursday, then 3K on The Green and the Bellahouston 10k on Friday. Saturday brought the OUT-Run in Glasgow’s West End, and the awesome Tom Robb Memorial Trail Race in the Carron Valley. Magnificent 7 The small field led to runners experiencing […]
Migo Mile For July
A Horrible Wee Race Another month, another Migo Mile – and a new tag line! It is well know that the 3K On The Green is known as “The best wee race in Scotland”. After today’s event, we’ve been dubbed “A horrible wee race”!! There was the addendum “But I loved it”. We’ll definitely take that – “A Horrible Wee Race That You’ll Love” – thanks Barry 🙂 For such a wee race we had […]
RGTR 2022 – Race Report and Results
Rouken Glen Trail Race The morning started with a light shower. My rain dance had worked. We were going to get some mud!!! Sadly it past quickly, and the end result was a plague of flies, and a hot humid start line. With a blast on the horn, runners streamed down the hill for a fast frantic start. Taking in the hidden pockets of the park, the “unused bit” and down into the Glen itself, […]

Migo Mile for June
A Good Sunday Morning It is fantastic to be back. Back putting races on, and back with Migo Mile. Having hosted the Virtual Migo Mile during the lockdown years, this is our first time hosting the “in-person” Migo Mile as Acorn Trails (previous editions were hosted by The Run Bible) Back to basics, and trying to get the event back into people’s thoughts and calendars, we had just 20 runners sign up for this free […]
